Hello friends! I have been using a very outdated motherboard with my AMD-FX 8350 4.0GHz. The motherboard I was using did not support FX processors, not did it even support 8-cores. I just ordered a much newer motherboard and I was wondering if, for the year I was using it with the motherboard, could it have damaged it? Thanks!

Old MoBo: GIGABYTE GA-M68MT-SP2
New MoBo!: GIGABYTE GA-990FXA-UD3

I don't follow, how you can use that CPU if the motherboard does not support it?

now i am getting confused as well
isn't it only an AM3+ motherboard that is backwards compatible with AM3 CPU's and not the other way around. How could he then have used the FX 8350 on his old motherboard

I need to correct this, FX is socket AM3. FM is the other socket.

My mistake.
