ok cool thanks. i looked at the manufacturers info on this and it said "SATA speed up to 3Gb/s" on both of them. and really the only difference i saw was sli.

whats the difference? i really cant tell. i compared the two on newegg and found no real difference. all i found was that they have different lan chipsets and that one is $9 more than the other. but other than that, i see no difference.

also, this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16813136152 the ultra-d, has 2 pcie16x slots. but why? is there a way to make it sli? sorry, its just that i find it kinda dumb to have 2 of those slots without sli
thanks

The two PCI-e x16 is for SLi. The two video cards go into each slot and the SLi bridge connects them together.

The more expensive one supports SATAII while the other one doesn't.

i kno it has 2 pcie16x for sli, i was just thinking that its kidna weird/dumb that the ultra-d has 2 of those slots but doesnt have sli capabilities. sorry for the confusion.

correct it doesnt but these boards have been looked at and there is one small difference...a connection between to places that gives it SLI and the ultra D can be easily made to be an SLI motherboard if u just connect the 2 points with a simple pencil mod then u can run it in SLI as long as u can get the bridge to connect the 2 cards

oh ok. well, i'd rather spend $30 more on the pre-sli'd board, than have to buy the bridge and solder the 2 points, nd knowing me, i'd prolly f**k the whole thing up... trust me ;)
