Default Determining power consumption of your computer

How does one find out the total aperage pull from your computer? I'm assuming the monitor will say on the back, but with so many different components in your computer, it seems you'd have to know what each one pulls? I'd like to know for reference so I do'nt blow my breaker in my room along with other things plugged in.
