Desparately in need of some help...please

I went onto my computer today and logged on everything was fine then things started popping up on my desktop and some icons in the toolbar started flashing saying I had malware spyware and trojans and god knows what I ran full system scan on AVG(the free one) and it said I had nothing I just dont know what to do cos when I click on the flashing icons it just sends me to anti virus pages...
please help

Have you ran spyware and antivirus in safe mode?

havent got spyware and erm nope I havent ran in safe mode whats the diffrence may I ask?

Well first things first. Get some antispyware on ya computer. The difference in safe mode is, that virus and spyware wont actually start, which means they can be removed easier. Whereas in normal mode, they are running in the background, and when you remove them, they can reinstall themselves.

what spyware would you recomend so I dont get shit one I have AVG )free adition for viruses if thats any god

Download http://www.lavasoftusa.com/products/ad-aware_se_personal.php (Ad-aware) and run it to see if you have spyware, then run a full anti-virus.

Download Hi-jack this http://www.majorgeeks.com/download3155.html and run that, and post the entries.

Do all this in safe mode!
