Default desktop icons

if you have a program like object dock that has a trash icon on it can you take off your original trash can icon of your desktop?

right click on the desktop go to arrange icons->show desktop icons

problem is though that it will not desplay any other icons.

Thats what I did. I put a shortcut to the recycle bin on my quick launch and went to >show desktop icons and turned it off so I have no icons at all on my desktop. Just the way I like it.
