Default Desktop as a carryon? (USA)

I'm designing a new gaming PC out of a Pelican 1510 case that can be used as a carry on when flying. Does anyone here have experience flying with a desktop PC? As far as I know, TSA would have to allow it as long as it's not liquid cooled.

Parts are one thing as in non functional. They are not seen as a threat.
On the other hand, one fully assembled in a case would be another matter.

I would expect some second look inspection. It was confirmed the Russian plane was brought down by a bomb. So I'd expect security to be a little heightened.

If you do get through security after inspection, expect a lot of funny looks from people on board... ;p

Well I do not intend to plug it in and use it while on the plane. lol. It should still look like a standard carry on, they just wouldn't know it's a computer until it goes through the X-Ray.
