Default Dell XPS 210

I have a Dell XPS 210 that needs a new CD drive, it looks like it uses a standard Laptop drive, but because all the laptop drives I have come across are all different sizes I was wondering if I can just use any laptop drive or whether it needs to be a specific one? Can I use any laptop drive, on any laptop assuming the face plate fits? I would imagine there is a standard for it like with the desktop ones, here is the one I am looking at for it:

2.4 Ghz celeron, 1.25 PNY pc 2700 RAM,PNY VERTIGO 5200 FX , 40 GB HDD
900Mhz 256 RAM , MX 4000, 30 GB HDD
1.9Ghz dual core AMD Athlon 2 GB 384 VRAM 320 Gb HD
2.3 tricore phenom,2 GB RAM , EVGA 9600 GSO,250 GB SSD
2.6 X4 620, 4GB RAM, 9600 GSO, 500 GB HDD/I'm part of The Project

Default Re: Dell XPS 210

Hello, I have taken the following from: Documentation

Externally accessible

one slimline 3.5-inch media bay

one slimline 5.25-inch drive bay

Available devices

Serial ATA drive, USB memory devices, floppy drive, CD drive, DVD drive, DVD+RW drive, DVD/CD-RW combo drive, DVD+/-RW drive, and Media Card Reader

According to this it seems that the drive from Amazon will work.

Best of luck!
