Or download the Dell CD from 'somewhere' and use that,aslong as you have a legal serial it's perfectly legal.

if you torrent the file and burn it, use that and use your serial key, its not illegal

Try it with the key on the computer. Make sure you've typed everything right. If it doesn't work, I think the best solution is to call Microsoft for a new one. Just give them the old key on the side of the computer.

Yep, I made sure I typed everything correctly, it was all correct and it was a no go.

I called Microsoft and got a new key, installed fine and working good....thanks guys!

I know you have it working but for future reference i have found using a windows xp oem cd ive used this method before with prefab computers and its worked fine . Just get a win xp oem cd for the right edition and service pack and it should work fine . If you dont know where to look im sure you should be able to find them bobbing about on torrent sites etc
