Well I want at least 2000 MHz and a gig of ram. Not to much $, just some parts to throw at it that are stable and will help speed it up a little. What kind of stuff will work with my pc? Give me some links.

Check the manuals if you got any, it should tell you. For example: Pentium 4 1.5 Ghz Socket 775

The sticker on the motherboard - DP/N MX-06E153-12405-160-0261

I am pretty sure it is a socket 423, I just bid on this:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=170013495862

What will I have to do to replace my cpu?

There is no socket 423.

If anything, its going to be socket 478.

Id go with this processor...

But for budget, either of these would do.

However, I would stick to a Pent 4.

As for the ram..
(Because its so old, brand wont matter)
Just choose the size from this list, and your good to go
