I am looking forward to taking the parts out of a DELL Inspiron E1505, which includes a Seagate Momentus 80GB SATA disk, and 2 sticks of ProMOS 512MB DDR2 RAM (1GB). Will that work with a Sony VAIO VGN-NR120E/S?

The hard drive should be fine - they're pretty universal. The RAM is a question of what the system is. A casual glance at the two different systems online says that the RAM types are the same, so it should be ok. If the RAM doesn't fit, then you won't see it.

It's very likely that the two systems use SATA drives while most XP laptops use 44-pin IDE connectors.

Er... right... but I don't see how that applies to my response?

I will check the compatibility on 2/12 because I don't have the Sony but I have the Dell. (It may be on 2/26 or even 3/11)
