Default Dell Inspiron E1505 not detecting the battery

The Dell Inspiron E1505 won't detect the battery. However when I press the button it says it's fully charged. It may be a faulty circuit board in the battery but I know it's common.

Dell Dimension 8300, 2GB RAM, Pentium 4 HT 2.60 GHz, 2 80GB HDDs, Radeon HD 3650

Considering the laptop was made in 2006 it's no wonder why you're having problems with the battery. Li-ion batteries wear out just sitting dormant.
Check Batteries Plus battery store - All your battery needs for Laptop, camera, cell phone, camcorder, SLA, batteries recycling and much more for a replacement.
I found the battery for my HP dv6205us for $80.00usd. So that gives you an idea of cost factors.
