Default Dell Dimension 4100 memory...

Hey, my friend wants to up his parents old computer up to its max of 512mb of ram. I've found the right memory, pc133, and everything however I dont know if I should tell him to get one stick of 512mb or 2 x 256mb. What do you guys think? I always though the 2 sticks would be better than one but i'm not positive. Thanks!
