i am thinking of getting a dell 4700 pc w/ the following
512 ram
free 15 in flat panel
3.0 ghz processer
128 ati raedon x300 se graphics card
5.1 surround sound 100 watts
usb optical mouse
gameing usb keybord
all this will run me about $937
now please tell me if i need to get anything better, or if some of it is too much and i should down grade, also is this good enough to play games like half life 2, and counter strike source

thats pretty good. but for that price you could easily build your own comp. i do not recommend that pentium. rather... get an amd athalon processor (64 or xp) because its cheaper and just a better processor. 512 is good, but what will you be doing? gaming like doom 3, half life 2, etc? video editing? it all depends... i suggest 1 gb. itll put you far ahead of in memory usage. the graphics card is ok. i have that same one. of course, the 68000 ultra pwns, as well as the x850, but $$$. good sound. counter strike and all those game will run fine, but a lot better with the amd. built for gaming. the screen is a little too small and u should get an 17" but if your budget doesnt go with it, then dont. like i said, its all about your budget...

i wanna start playing half life 2, counter strike, stuff like that, so please list what parts you would get, if you made ur own, or should i even go with dell, but dell has all the best deal, and upgrades

no no no. in my opinion.... dell sux. serioulsy. they use crappy parts and its not get a good company. only for like large buisness i guess are they good. and please edit your posts and not use a new post each time.... ok fist of all... you need a processor. amd = ownage. if you want a custom built comp by me or the others on cf, tell me. but if not, here's a good comp... http://www2.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16883102622
but thats $1000 with nothing else. however, there is also this: http://www2.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16883102612
its a little cheaper, $700. you can then get this screen http://www2.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16824005019
from lg and ur set. if you need a keyboard and all that... http://www2.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16823126131
will set u up nicely. that brings it out to...
933. but you want speakers so...
http://www2.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16836121118
and thats 44. so the total is $979. i think... haha. doing the math in my head so might be off by just a little. check to make sure. but thats under $1000 and amd is better. but if u want more.... ill try and build u a custom comp... but it might take a while... but other than that... yeha.

ok, the one for $700 has 120gig hard drive, and a 2.8 ghz processer, and the one that is just over $1,000 has a 3.2 ghz processer, and 160 gig hard drive, so the the $300 dollar price jup worth it, cause one of my friends says that you can really tell a difference in between the processer speeds, and i probley wont ever fill up the 160 gig drive.....so i guess what im getting to is, that the $300 dollar price jump isnt worth it

i was wonderin if you think that i should also get a 512 ram stick for 35.00 cause both of the computers only have 512.....?
