dell 3 year warranty

i am buying a new 300 dollar computer for internet purposes only from dell. should i get the 3 year warranty?

why? it's only $300 ... probably with a one year standard warranty ... right? If it goes belly-up in 13 months, buy another one. How much is the 3 year warranty?

130 for 3 years. almost 50% of the model. lol.

No. It is not worth the extra money. The pc Dell offers for $300 is...well...basically what you are paying for. If you have never used a fairly good computer before, you will not notice the lag. That computer is basically out of date right now. 2 1/2 years down the road, a warranty will be worthless. Am I correct in guessing the warranty is about an extra 100 bucks?

you are correct. it's about 2.4 ghz celeron machine. good enough to run aim, internet porn the next 3 years right?

Lol, yea for AIM and porn its a good machine and will serve you well.

*EDIT* If your gonna be looking at porn on your PC get a good spyware program like "Spybot search and destroy" ot "Adaware SE".

i wouldn't because i don't like paying more then i need to. If your like me an can build computers and repair is there really much point in buying the extra warranty?

And i know where to get cheap parts so i wouldn't waste money. As long as you look after your PC, Virus, Spyware etc it SHOULDN'T Have any problems.

That is the best advice. Take care of your pc and you will have no worries. There are lots of good threads on here for free spyware and anti-virus programs that will keep it running smooth
