Default Defrag...

I regularly defrag my laptop hard drive. I defrag a 25gb partition that has about 5gb free., but everytime I do it takes about 3 hours. I have read that a system can hang while defragging but isnt 3 hours+ a bit accessive?

Im defragging with windows defrag tool on a AMD 64 ML-30, 1.6ghz. 512mb ddr laptop.

Any suggestions or comments?
Thank you for any help!

ps Should I use a different defrag program? If so, any suggestions?

Well if the hard drive is that full then yes it will take a while, and those specs are ok, but would be alot faster with better specs.

3 hours seems fine
