Hi,

Recently I was sent a folder from another computer via download and the icon that popped up on my desktop was an iTunes icon instead of the normal zipped folder icon.

I think I accidentley changed my default program to open folders to iTunes.

I have tried getting it back with no luck so far. I would like to get it back to how it used to be where the icon would be the zipped folder icon instead of iTunes or windows media player.

-Thanks

Windows Vista Preimum Home Edition
Intel Duo Core 2000 MHz
2 Gigs of RAM
GeForce 8400 M GS

-Right click the file
-Hover over Open With...
-Click Choose Program...
-Pick the program you want
-Check the "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file" box
-Hit OK

The program that I want isnt there though. When I was sent a file like this it would pop up with the icon of a zipped folder (with the little silver zipper).

I want to be able to open the file and look at its contents. The file is a music file and before I was able to look at all the songs and add which ones I wanted to my iTunes.

Any way I could get that back?

The little silver zipper icon is the windows default decompressor, it opens compressed files such as .zip, .rar etc

A System Restore may be able to get your associations repaired.

I don't know what the Microsoft .exe is called, someone else may be able to provide that info, if they can then just use the method freestyler posted and navigate to the location of the .exe

Alternatively just use WinRAR or Winzip
