Can I put DDR2 on a motherboard that supports DDR3, or is that out of the question? I ask because I can afford the motherboard now, but I want to wait to get the upgraded memory for a little bit if possible.

P5K3 Asus board which can run DDR3 is it able to run DDR2 but im not sure if its true

DDR2 RAM won't fit DDR3 slots.

The only way DDR2 RAM will fit on a motherboard that supports DDR3 is if that motherboard has both DDR2 and DDR3 slots.
