Is it possible to put DDR2700 ram in a motherboard that has a ram limit of DDR2100? (Random question I know)

I'm not sure, but I doubt that it's going to damage anything so probably no harm trying. It might work but the ram speed will be changed to this "DDR2100".

So do u mean ddr[insert frequency] (pc2100)?
Since that number after the ddr is the frequency it operates at, and I highly doubt that that ram has a frequency of 2.7Ghz.

correct, it is pc2100, my bad.....so you think if i just inserted pc2700 that the motherboard would be fine and just run at its full capacity without harm to the memory or mobo?

it would run at pc2100 speeds.
Most likely it will work, and I don't see how it could damage either of the parts, though anything is possible.
