Database Mgt Software

My company is currently running a database software program circa 1995 and they are wanting to jump into the 21st century. They are wanting a wanting a database management software, basically off the shelf, that they can put on the internet for a directory listing website. Anyone have any ideas they can pass on or give me an idea on software that would work?

Not 100% sure but i think it can.

Is there any other software that I can use besides Access? He doesn't want to build something from scratch. They are wanting something basically you can take off the shelf, install it, get it running and then put it on the internet. Something very simple and straight forward.
