I had this same problem a few weeks ago.
I went to a local compuer shop and bought an external HDD drive case for poprtable laptop hard drives.
the one I got takes IDE and SATA drives and still only cost £18.
I really suggst that you grab one of those as it makes the whole thing a lot easier!
you just whack it in the enclosure and it connects via USB.
