Default Dam Laptop Screen Problem (most probably easy)

My laptop screen has gone really dark and i cant find how to fix it. When I change setting in display it sometimes flashes at full colour b4 returning to darkness. I can see the background but it is very dark and hard to see. Please help

There are settings in the bios and settings in the driver. Check them both. If still no joy then contact the maker of the laptop for an RMA.
It sounds like the back lights are failing. This is not a user repairable item.

Got to play with them, if its not a setting RMA it, or toss it. I recently helped replace (more like old the screw driver for the guy) well he replaced a mointor on a laptop took him near an hour and he is VERY GOOD AT WHAT HE DOES. He builds cell phones, laptops etc.

Part was 520 bucks
Installlation 80.

Thats 600.
