Question D3D Error Message

I purchased a LCD TV/Pc compatable (Brand SVA V-20) this weekend for use on my computer. I only bought it so I can play EQ2 & other video games. So I hooked it up. Everything looks great. I go to log on to my EQ2 account & I encounter the following error -- an unrecoverable error and must shutdown. <verify> E:\live\eq2\framework\core\devices\
scr\DirectX9RenderDevice.cpp (961): Failed to create D3D device.

I am running a GeForce XF 5500 on my computer btw. I tryed everything I could. D/L new drivers/ Direct X9, etc. Messed with settings. Still getting same error.
I hooked my 6 yr old monitor back up & the game starts up. No error messages.

Does anyone have some insight on this?
