Ok I bought this motherboard online. http://www.gearxs.com/gearxs/product_info.php?cPath=75_105&products_id=8022 (with no manuel) I will never shop at this place again. (here is the company's info on the board: http://www.pcchips.com.tw/PCCWeb/Pr...ID=22&LanID=2&DetailID=259&DetailName=Feature )

Now I put in a Pentium 4 3.0ghz 800bus (hyper thread technology) with 640mb of 333 ddr ram.

I connect everything and when I turn it on, the only working items are the fans and dvd drive.

The problems that I have now are:

1. I do not know for sure if I connect the jumper cables right.

2. I have no clue why the rest don't work. I can't see the startup of the bios. The monitor just lays there like nothing is happening.

Can someone advise me?

Hi When u say the jumper cables what do u mean? the jumpers themselves? or the cables for the power etc?

Make sure that the psu cables r attached properly especially the ATX 12v 2 pin cable! i didnt connect this to a pc and i had the same problem as u. Also make sure that nothing is shorting in the case, ie rogue loose screws on the case touching a track or solder point on the bottom or top of the board, this can also cause this prob. Best thing to do if all cables are attached, is take the board completely out of the case and lay it on surface like wooden floor or tiles. Do not use carpet, cardboard will also work. Then test it out of the box to eliminate shorts. If not get back to us :)

Yeah definately make sure the 4 pin power connector is connected, and also is the CPU fan spinning?

Matt

Yes that was the problem. I thought the CPU is mounted correctly. But I went back and check, it was not stable. So I mounted correctly and it works. Thanks guys.
