Hey, I wanted to know what people thought of this setup. I don't have all the money in the world to spend, so I'm trying to be cost-efficient without cutting too many corners and still ending up with a pretty decent gaming/programming system.
I'm open to all criticism.

Processor: AMD Athlon64 DC 4400 2.2GHz, 1ML2 cache
Video Card: eVGA GF FX6800 SLI 256MB TVOUT
Sound Card: Sound Blaster Audigy 2 Gamer (THX certified mmmm)
Motherboard: ASUS A8N-SLi NFORCE4 (2 PCI-E)
RAM: DDR2 2x523M PC2-4200
HD: Barracuda 120G 7200rpm
Chassis: ENERMAX CS-3171L
CDROM: PIONEER DVDRW 16X

This all comes to about $2K CAD without peripherals.

What's a good motherboard for Athlon64's that supports DDR2, PCI-express, has LAN, nForce 4 SLI chipset, and preferrably no audio?

There are none. All AMD motherboards use DDR ram not DDR2.

so... is the difference enough to make me want an Intel processor, or should I stick with AMD and just go for DDR?
