Default CS:S not starting

I just transfered my Geforce4 mx440 64mb to a new computer I built, and it says I need a card with direct X 7.0 compatibile hardware, and it is because i have played source on it before. Any help would be aprreciated.

it worked before though, i sent my 9800 pro in for MFR repair, so can you help me more then saying you need a new one. Because i have gotten it to work before

It seems that the mx440 isn't directx9 compatible, or are you saying that you were able to play it on that graphics card before?

it isn't cs:s needs at least 7.0 hardware directx and 9.0 software, and I used to have 7.0 hardware, now for some reason I dont?

oh, maybe the card isn't 9.0 compatible, even tho you have 9.0, maybe it only works with 7.0

I doubt that... the driver's should keep it up to 9.0 or so I think...

it is 9.0 compatible with software, but hardware supports only up to 7.0
