Lol... wow that specs will only do 40 in high?? Jesus. Can't wait to finish it though, should be done within a month Wonder what computers teh game developers used...

With textures, I believe V-RAM does matter.
For instance, the Doom 3 Engine, when set to Ultra High, uncompressed all the textures. Now, thats where you need more V-RAM. Its possible most games still use compressed textures.

having compressed\uncompressed textures only affects performance i think. i dont think it affects looks at all, although remember reading an article on Doom 3 and its texture usage. it uses 500mb of uncompressed textures, which is crazy. although i think your hardware can cache fast enough to where it doesnt make a very noticable different, i think it was like 15FPS difference between the 8800GTS 640mb vs 320mb in the article i read, although it was a small percentage as they were both well above 120FPS average
