Ok, I think I have a pretty good base-build.
*note that you do not have to buy from TigerDirect*
*also note that this is just a base-build - No case, fans, CPU cooler, or Thermal Compound*

Core I7
Evga X58 TSLI
Evga GTX260 Core 216 <--- Get two of these
Corsair TX750
6Gb OCZ Tri-Channel "I7"
OCZ Solid 30Gb
SeaGate 7200.12 500Gb

Pretty good. I would recommend a single but powerful graphics card to leave him some upgrade path through SLi/Xfire.

They perform the same if not the 4850X2 is a little bit worse. I say go for the 4850X2 because it is 80 dollars cheaper and you could get another later on haha

QUADFIRE FTW

Well, don't get the Evga X58 SLI if you plan on CrossFire. I'm not sure how that would end up working out - CrossFire on a SLI board...The Intel DX58SO should run CrossFire setups and dual SLI setups.
