Its not and there is definetly no hurt in doing an online scan

It seem to me that there are too many of these threads. By that I mean, too many people are not protecting themselves from viruses. Is there not a way we could make a sticky, with all this info in it? I personally would not turn my computer on (only in safe mode), let alone go on the internet, if I thought I had a virus.

Perhaps a sticky link to antivirus companies? General virus info?

I don't know. Just a thought.

codec.. when you opened IE did it go to downloads for virus scans? and stuff like that?..

you have to go into program files and so some stuff.. but seeing that you have this problem fixed I guess Im not needed
