Default Crazy laptop

My laptop gone crazy. First of all to start I have to press switch on and immediately F5 to switch on otherwise Harddisk turns and stops again.
When left alone this laptop switch on and off by it's own. Maybe it has a virus in the bios not sure but would like a little help.
If this is the case how can I clean it?
Thanks

What's the make/model/age of your laptop? What OS does it have on it?

It's an Asus with Windows XP installed. I formatted the harddisk recently and installed windows again but still same problem.

Alright, I'm going to need the model as well. Also, can you get the hard drive make as well? (Seagate, Western Digital...)
