CPU usage idleing at 50ish percent?

after installing AVG on my computer, my CPU idles at like 50% even if no other programs are running. why is this and what is affected by this? my computer seems plenty fast but before it was idleing at about 20%.

What process is using all of this?

if the svchost process is using all that cpu then you've got a faulty windows xp
