Question CPU Speed

Hello all, I have a Pentium 4 3.20 GHz CPU overclocked to 4.12 GHz (rated at 6.18 GHz at System Requirements Lab) HT enabled, but I think my memory is what is holding me back. So I'm getting 2 GB DDR2 667 this Christmas and hopefully I'll be able to overclock it some more. But anyway, I was looking and found a new motherboard and a 2.2 GHz Core 2 Duo for a reasonable price, and I was wondering if it would be a good investment to upgrade to that. I wouldn't be able to afford a new motherboard and a better duo or quad core CPU right now. And I play a lot of games. I'm just hoping that the CPU I have now will get me through?

you could go for the core duo, and could proberly overclock that to about 3.0ghz with good cooling and ram.

Sorry for late reply, but my specs will be the same as what I have in my SIG except I'll have SLI 6800 Ultras and 2GB of RAM. I'm thinking about getting the Asus P5N-E SLI Motherboard and CPU combo from Tigerdirect (http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...80&CatId=2406( It's the closest motherboard to mine that is SLI and dual core capable.
