i have a question, if a motherboard is somehow damaged/shocked, and wouldnt post, and i put in a new CPU, will that damage the CPU when i try turning on a computer?

I don't think so. But I'm not sure. I have 2 spares laying around. One is from a machine that got struck by lightning (fried RAM and PSU), couldn't test the proc and mobo, hopefully the proc is not damaged. Then I have another that had a fried mobo, and again, couldn't test the proc.

i got a mobo that might got damaged when a PSU shorted, and i put in a brand new CPU and put it in there, turn the computer on, fans spinning, etc, and no post beeps, that means the CPU should be alright right?

Should be, but you'll never know until you put it in a working board.

lol i know i hadda buy 2 motherboards because my cpu burnt up one of them then i hadda get a new cpu and motherboard... haha
