Default CPU Power Connector

I have a motherboard with an 8-pin CPU power connector. Previously, I had a core 2 duo being powered by a 4-pin CPU power connector plug. It worked perfect and never gave me any problems.

I have purchased a core 2 quad, as I will be using a program which utilizes 4 core technology called AutoCAD.

I was wondering if I would be able to use a 4-pin connector with the quad core processor?

Yup, it should be fine. As long as the CPU and motherboard are compatible, you're good to go.
