apply some new paste? does the fan on it work? how big is the heattsink?

Did you remove the cooler and reseat it without first cleaning both the CPU and the heatsink base and applying new paste?

New paste, the fan works, I dont know exactly....not that big.

What did you clean the old paste off with?

Sounds like you're doing it correctly, though I have no idea what Tilex is, you should use isopropyl alcohol.

What vcore is going into the cpu?

How long after startup do you get the overheat message?

I still suspect the push pins, they're mongrel things and cause lots of problems like this.

whats a vcore? Power supply?

It's the voltage that's going through your PC. I think the higher the VCore, the higher the temps... But the lower the VCore, the more unstable it is. You gotta get the balance...

I could be TOTALLY wrong there though

vcore = cpu core voltage, the amount of volts being used to make the cpu run.
