Default cpu lifespan

what shortens a cpu lifespan:

heat?
or
oc'ing(stock voltage,low heat)?

abnormal temps and too high voltages will reduce it alot.
And normal oc'ing might reduce it too, but not significantly.

Well over heating can kill it, but overheating can be cause by oc so its a lil bit of both

well, if the OC doesnt create more heat, does it hurt the cpu still?

or i think what im trying to ask is:
does oc'ing kill the cpu directly, or is it the heat created by oc'ing that kills it?

Well oc'ing wont hurt it as long as you keep the temps low...overheating will hurt it but most likely overheating is caused by oc'ing
