Haha on my 9700, if I have fan control on, on my motherboard, sometimes, the fan stops completly, and the hum dissapears. I was well scared, and turned it off, as I didn't like seeing it not spinning
It turns off because it can keep the temps safe at idle without the fan. As soon as the CPU heats up again, the fan will turn on. Why don't you trust these programs?
I'd rather have it running at one speed at all times, so I don't get fluctuations in speed, and so noise.
It runs cool and quiet without having extra programs running, so why do it?
