my amd box is 256kbl2 i think

Well I saw intels new processors have a 8mb cache, that seems really high compared to all the other proccessors with 128k to 1mb cache. How does it make a difference or is even it much of a difference?

The industry is moving away from L1 and L2 cache really. Now CPUs are coming out with L3 cache, which is a combination of L1 and L2 put together and for the most part, substantially bigger. If you want a good read on what L3 cache is, check this out...

Bigger L2 is always better, but the performance difference isn't earth-shocking.
