Cpu Ancient!!!

I have a jetway v266b mb with AMD ATHLON(tm)1800+ cpu, anyone no of a good cpu upgrade for this motherboard ie will it run a 2400+ cpu, the jetway manual looks like this

I would love to here some cpu knowledge on this, thank you

I'm pretty sure it's a Socket A(462) motherboard, and I don't think you have many choices for upgradeability...

Yes it is socket A , ive been looking to see if they still make those cpu but im not gettng very far

To me, I'd look at Ebay. I think it does support it, but to buy new, forget it.

they dont make them anymore but there are sold new\used on ebay
the ones with a Barton core are the best im asuming your running a 1.4 Thunderbird cause i got a 1.2 Thunderbird

Dont know what brand it is,cant find it anywhere in the manual, im reluctant to buy a secound hand one for they may have been overclocked so are on there way out, i would still like to find a place that sells them in there original packet,

that right there is the best cpu your mobo can take because your manual says 2000+ not 2400+
