First question. Will DDR2 800 work with a mobo that Supports DDR2 1066? Or should I go with the DDR2 1066?

Next Question - Which would you go with - Intel Q6600 Or AMD Phenom 9600
Is the $60 price increase worth getting the Q6600

If the 9600 Phenom is better than the Intel Q6600 can you suggest a Mobo thats $100 or less. Maybe with OC'ing features.

Yes, DDR2 800 will work just fine on a mobo that supports DDR2 1066.

I do believe that the Q6600 is the better performing processor.

Thanks for the Quick reply! reason i asked if the AMD is worth it is because
I was trying to keep the price under $800 on my build, Wanted that to include Os, monitor, keyboard and mouse. Looks like that wont happen.

i think some people benchmark an OC'ed Q6600 against the 9850 BE.
they both won certain tests, but i think the people preferred the Q6600.

The RAM will definitely work. You might have to go into BIOS to select the speed, since it might run it at 667. (Like mine did). My ASUS P5QL supports upto 1066 but I'm running DDR2 800, perfectly fine. I would prefer the Q6600. I have it myself and I LOVE it. It's not too bad for gaming and helps with my video editing. It will secure you for a few years, too.
