Default Core 2 Duo is Really Faster?

I've been hearing ppl talking about the core 2 duo, but is it really much faster than x2's? Can you people tell me how much faster is an E6300 over a 4200+ or 4600+?

Definately. The E6600 is equivalent if not better than the FX-62 in performance, but the price difference is almost $700.

The E6300 will hold it's own against the X2 4200+ and 4600+ just fine.

That's power consumption. He was asking about performance.

Dude, just look at the sticky in the processors section. Big thread, Conroe vs FX-62.
