Question Copying Protected DVDs?

Ok... This is probably going to sound illegal but I promise I have no bad intentions with this! I bought a nice DVD player on my comp and I've been watching our family's DVDs on it all the time. But now my dad says I can't take them any more because hes sick of me constantly leaving them in my room. I have a DVD burner in my computer, so I bought uLead disc burner and decided to just burn myself copies of all of our DVDs (of course with no intention to sell them or anything, just so i had some in my room)

But when I pressed copy, it said "disc is protected"... Does anyone know of any software that will let my copy "protected" discs?

Thanks!

kind of depends on what kind of protection it uses.

And try that dvd shrink thingy, never used it but looking at the threads that mixx posted it sure seems to be good.

Alright... Even for backup purposes it seems that what I'm doing is borderline illegal.. I'll just stick with arguing with my dad
