Default copy question

Are there anyway to copy a blue ray or dvd to my computers hard drive, so i can play it off my hard drive so my cds want get scratched up? Is that still illegal cause this will be for me only!!!

If the law has not been changed, you can make one archival copy. It doesn't state if it's on a disc or hard drive.
The guys here can put you on to ripping software.

There's a bunch of software. I would highly recommend Alcohol 52% (http://www.free-downloads.net/programs/Alcohol_52__Free_Edition), which is free.
