You may have seen my other thread for the ordering and compatibility of parts i was building a computer with. I recently ordered these parts. They are as follows...

Processor: Core 2 DUO 3.00ghz 6mb L2 cache. (I have a feeling this will be my heat problem.

Motherboard: P5q Pro Turbo (same as deluxe but less slots and cooling)

Hard Drive: Caviar

Graphics Card: ASUS ATI 4850 1gb

Cold Cathode: Generic

CPU Heatsink: Freezer 7

What can I do about case cooling for this build. Do I need lots of fans or a simple 120mm exhaust and intake fan? I really need some help. And yes... It's a common side windows ultra-bright blue cathode lit computer, like there aren't enough of those... But, it does look cool.

I take it you're going to overclock that cpu to get it up to par with an e8500 or even more

If you're not going to overclock, the stock heatsink should be fine and it will get rid of most of the heat.

Do you have thermal paste for the cooler?
I personally use MX-2

idk much about the air flow, so someone else can help with that.

The cpu will be overclocked to 3.4ghz and I have Arctic Silver 5 regarded as the best thermal paste. Plus even if I didn't overclock this is a gaming machine so it will get hot.

Best? I'm pretty sure people would argue about that
and yeah I understand about the cooler
I don't even overclock but I have my aftermarket heatsink on my processor haha
