Default Converting DVD to AVI

I have a bunch of seinfeld DVD's I want to put on my computer that I bought...I have gotten a bunch of dvd to avi converters but they all seem overly complicated, can anyone put me to a guide, or a different software type?

Thanks

Then torrent the episodes; not that I would encourage illegal downloading, but if you already have the files....

I think you can use DVD Shrink to copy them to your hard-drive. It's legal if you own the dvds, also known as the fair-use act. Here's a great website to find more about it.
