Convert DAT Music File to WAV or MP3

I have the game Rome TOTAL War, and it has a DAT file with all of the music in it, and i wanna convert htis to wav or mp3 so i can listen to it in the car

what program can i use that is free

So Winamp will just open it? You could then just record them as you play them. A long process but it'd be worth it!

You can find this free at www.winamp.com, its a very good sound program, plus you can download plugins to have it play old *gym (megadrive), sid (amiga), spc (snes), and even comes with a plugin to play MOD's already :)

A good sound program to record is Audacity and you can edit and save tracks in mp3 too! Plus loads of other formats. All it'd need to do this is a file called LAME.dll that Winamp has in it's plugins directory used to make mp3's, that you simply search for when it comes to exporting as MP3 :):

yeah thanks a lot, i played it with windows media player and just recorded with Audacity WHAT U HEAR feature, it took only 1 hr. thanks SO MUCH
