Default convert AVI to another format?

Basically I just want to watch AVI files on my TV. My DVD player plays just about every format except AVI.

I did a search on google and I have seen a few programs that convert AVI to VCD.

I have NERO that can convert to VCD but what do you do when the AVI is over 700mb and wont fit on a CD-RW? But nero doesnt convert to DVD format to go on a DVD-R disc?

Can anyone reccomend a good program for this? Ayone know of a free one?

Any other light you can shed on this would be great....Thanks!

welcome to the forum!!
http://www.dvdsanta.com/index.html?g01avi

I haven't used it YET personally but there have been great reviews about it in some of the forums.
Free trial(no time limit) offer.
By having a newbie try it out for ease of operation would be a great thing.....Post back and let us know the outcome.
