Default Contrast Ratio Question

Do you want a higher or lower number to :1? like which one is better 500:1 or 1000:1?

I have never used a ratio to set the contrast. It is kind of a personal/individual type of thing. The brighter it is the more contrast you will want.

Try one setting and if it looks sharp and clear leave it be. if it looks faded then adjust it more. But don't use a game to set it by. use a website home page.

i'm going to be buying a monitor in the next few weeks and the only thng i don't know about them is about the contrast ratio.

Generally, the higher the contrast ratio, the better. Keep in mind you also want a fast response time too.
