Default confused on ram timings

ok, on ram timings is it better to have lower or higher numbers? i thought lower numbers was better, but in oc forums, some people seem to get better fps in certain apps with higher numbers ...

The lower the cas latency the faster the memory; so 2.5 is faster than 3. Cas latency is the time it takes the memory to process the info; the less time it takes the faster the memory.
For the frequency, the higher the faster! 400 Mhz is faster than 333 Mhz or 266 Mhz which are in order PC3200 PC2700 PC2100.
We are now in the DDR2 era! where we have PC3500 and higher.

I note on your signature that you wrote that your system has PC3300! I would believe it should be more like PC3200, PC3300 don't exist!>

ya, but im ocing it so its running at ddr 420, so its reading as 3300 ... kina funny, so other than cas timing, should the others be low numbers also?

I think the thrid number or fourth should be high. Zero, sig has to be 5 lines, same trance. But yea. Overall, lower is better.
