Computer Won't Boot ...

Hi people
My sister's computer is unfortunately having troubles, whenever i try to turn it on, it won't do anything but beep ... the monitor won't even turn on ...
From what i'm guessing, there is something wrong with the hardware, seeing as though i can't even access the BIOS ...
Any ideas or suggestions as to why this might be happening ?

Check the ram and CPU...

Multiple beeps give out a code. Refer to the motherboard manual for what each beep code means.


If there is just the usual boot beep, then try changing the video card. I had a similar problem after a BIOS upgrade. I fixed it by replacing my GeForce MX420 PCI with an older 4MB PCI card. Don't know why that worked, but it did, and it allowed me to do a BIOS flash which in turn allowed me to put my GeForce back.
