Computer stopped working need help!

I left my room and my computer was on, and when I came back the computer was off. It will not turn back on now however all the lights flash and the fans spin for a split second when i hit the power button. The green power light on the mobo is on so its still getting power. Any suggestions on what this problem might be and how i can fix it? Any help would be appreciated

might be your motherboard shorting against your case or your ram,

those r the first things id check,

also could be a faulty psu

I would say your power supply is gone.

yeah its def something hardware. it just a case of testing everything bit by bit. do you have any spare components that you can pull out of another computer to use, like a psu to see if its your powersupply thats the problem? you dont want to go buying new stuff to find out it isnt the problem
